Our Invisalign treatment process

Step 1 – Consultation

During your first appointment, tell us about your dream straight smile and we’ll help you achieve it! We check your teeth to make sure you are suitable for invisible aligners, discuss the treatment process, and answer any questions you have.

Step 2 – Planning

If you’re happy to go ahead, we take scans and images of your teeth using our state-of-the-art digital equipment. These ensure your clear aligners are made to your exact specifications for a comfortable fit. We can even show you a preview of your new smile using ClinCheck technology!

Step 3 – Straightening

You wear each set of aligners for around two weeks before progressing to the next ones. Carefully controlled forces move your teeth into straighter positions according to your bespoke treatment plan. We see you for regular appointments to make sure your treatment is on track for outstanding results.

Step 4 – Results

Once treatment is complete, your new straight smile is ready to show off! We love seeing how happy you are with your new look. To help you maintain your straight teeth for the long term, we give you a custom retainer.

What is Invisalign treatment?

Have you always wanted straighter teeth but are put off by the idea of traditional metal braces? Invisalign treatment is the solution you’ve been looking for! It uses a series of custom-made clear aligners to gradually straighten your teeth and achieve your ideal outcome.

The Invisalign system fits seamlessly into your lifestyle and routines. The aligners are removable, so you can take them out to eat and drink whenever you choose, and clean your teeth as normal. You simply have to remember to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours per day, as Invisalign treatment only works when the aligners are in your mouth!

Frequently asked questions

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

On average, Invisalign treatment takes around 9-18 months to achieve incredible results. More straightforward cases could take an even shorter time! We can advise you of your expected treatment time at your initial consultation.

Is Invisalign treatment really worth it?

Most people would agree that Invisalign treatment is worth it! It is one of the most aesthetic and comfortable ways to straighten your teeth, using invisible braces that no-one will be able to see while you’re wearing them.

How much does Invisalign treatment cost on average?

At our dental practice in Worthing, the Invisalign treatment price starts from £4300. We can give you a more exact quote after your initial consultation.

Do you sleep with Invisalign aligners in?

Yes, it is important that you wear your Invisalign aligners while you sleep. The aligners should be worn full time, removed only for eating, drinking, and cleaning. Your treatment only progresses when you are wearing your invisible aligners, so make sure you wear them as much as possible to get your new straight smile in the fastest time!

Is Invisalign treatment painful?

You shouldn’t find Invisalign treatment painful. Your aligners are custom-made especially for you, so are an accurate and snug fit. This makes them comfortable to wear, even overnight while you sleep. You may feel some minor discomfort when you first start wearing the aligners, and each time you change to a new set, but this is temporary. It is actually also a good sign that your treatment is working!

Do I have to wear a retainer?

A retainer is a very important stage of your treatment. It keeps your teeth in their new straight positions for the long term, preventing them from shifting back to their original positions. Your retainer will be removable, and we recommend you wear it overnight for as long as you want your teeth to stay straight.

Do I need to wear my invisible aligners all day?

Yes, you need to wear your Invisalign aligners full time in order to get the most out of your treatment, and achieve your straight smile in the fastest possible time. We recommend they are worn for a minimum of 22 hours per day, every day, until your treatment is complete.
